Vis­i­tors are encour­aged to explore the mag­nif­i­cent Lusa­t­ian Lake Dis­trict with the tour oper­a­tor iba-aktiv-tours. They are intro­duced to each stage of the flood­ing process from sur­face min­ing to the fin­ished bathing lake on guided tours and tours with expert guest guides. They also learn how the largest man-made lake land­scape is being cre­ated from the for­mer min­ing region. Vis­i­tors will expe­ri­ence the land­scape trans­for­ma­tion in the region in a kind of time-lapse on guided tours: new lakes, nav­i­ga­ble canals, float­ing houses, town mari­nas, oper­a­tional sur­face min­ing and indus­trial cul­ture. The guided tours are either on foot, by bicy­cle, by minibus or on the Seeschlange road train.
