The parks and gardens of the Lusatian Lakeland region are great places to take a walk and enjoy the colourful beauty of nature. Nochten Boulder Park demonstrates how the rugged terrain left behind by the lignite mining industry can be successfully recultivated. This landscape garden is unique in all of Europe. More than 7,000 boulders are nestled into the landscape of this flower-filled park, which extends over an area of approximately 20 hectares. Muskau Bend Geopark is the cradle of Lusatia’s lignite mining industry. This unique landscape was shaped by ice age glaciers. At the historical East German Rose Garden in Forst (Lusatia), horticulture, botanical diversity and landscape architecture come together in one beautiful display.
